THE S.A.F.E®VILLE CHILDREN'S PARLIAMENT

The S.A.F.E®VILLE Children’s Parliament is created to give expression to the right of the child to participation.

It is a community-based body of children representatives from various FAMILIES and INSTITUTIONS in different communities with the responsibility of advocacy in the areas of Child’s RIGHTS and RESPONSIBILITIES, influencing government agencies responsible for law making and policy implementation, to enforce the Child’s Right Law/Act as well as to create positive change in their immediate environment.

 

Our Pioneer S.A.F.E®VILLE Children’s Parliament was established on the 2nd of November, 2019 at Isolo with 31 children from Isolo, Ilasa and Ajao Estate, in partnership with SOS Children’s Village International.

S.A.F.E®VILLE Children’s Parliament has also been inaugurated in Surulere and Ajegunle (pictures of each).

S.A.F.E®VILLE ONE DAY CHILDREN’S PARLIAMENT

We host our precious children (online and offline) regularly to discuss current matters that concern their welfare, care and protection.

It is an open forum where we allow our precious young people to participate in sharing their challenges and victories in their own words.

Each meeting ends with a communiqué drafted by the children and is made available online to primary and secondary caregivers and governments functionaries and same becomes a campaign tool for the rights of the precious African child.

The proceeding of our S.A.F.E®VILLE ONE-DAY CHILDREN’S PARLIAMENT are recorded with the consent of the primary and secondary caregivers of the precious children in attendance and it is shared with interested primary and secondary caregivers on demand.

S.A.F.E®VILLE ANNUAL CONFERENCE:

S.A.F.E® VILLE Conference is our annual conference where we gather young people and those who work with them both as primary and secondary caregivers to commemorate World Children’s Day, which holds on November 20 every year.

More details

The maiden edition was held on November 20, 2017, where we hosted over 750 young people and 200 hundred caregivers. Since then, we have hosted close to 3000 children in 3 years (pictures of past Conferences)

S.A.F.E® One-on-One (Mentoring/Coaching):

we spend time with individual teenagers and young adults one-on-one for a period of between 3 and 6 months, mentoring them on how to deal with day-to-day issue relating to their inevitable

THE S.A.F.E®VILLE CLUB

The S.A.F.E®VILLE CLUB is a platform for fun learning designed to bring the message of our S.A.F.E®VILLE FAMILY COMICS face to face with PRECIOUS YOUNG PEOPLE.

FOCUS:

Guide our precious children to create their own PERSONAL SAFETY and SELF-PROTECTION CONSTITUTION by inculcating POSITIVE VALUES, SOFT AND SELF LEADERSHIP SKILLS by using VALUE-BASED and AGE-APPROPRIATE PLAY and FUN tools like music, spoken words, games, audio-visual materials, animated lectures and other activities. This is because the main skill for human difference is soft skills and hard skill is only complimentary. 

 

S.A.F.E®VILLE ONLINE CLUB

Our online platform is known as S.A.F.E®VILLE ONLINE CLUB, holding monthly meeting twice a month and engages children through other online platforms.

 

S.A.F.E®VILLE ONE-DAY CLUB

This is our offline meeting hosting children to inculcate the principles as stated under the purpose and focus of our club above.

 

The proceeding of our S.A.F.E®VILLE ONE-DAY CLUB are recorded with the consent of the primary and secondary caregivers of the precious children in attendance and it is shared with interested primary and secondary caregivers on demand.

 

We have hosted over 1000 children so far on our online platforms, particularly during this COVID-19 pandemic period

MOM® (MOM ON A MISSION) MOVEMENT

By virtue of our focus of intervention over the years, working with the precious Nigerian children, their families and secondary caregivers in the area of Securing A Friendly and Protective Environment® for the precious African children, we have had the rare privilege of working with many Women Working with children, both as primary and secondary caregivers, both at the lowest and highest levels.

We have been fortunate to be part of the success stories of the family lives of many; yet, we have been burdened directly by the seemingly insurmountable troubles of many more.

It is our commitment that our distinguished women, who are known to generally spend more time with our precious children, need all the empowerment to be all  that God has created them to be; to their families,  careers, callings,  Africa and  the world at large.

WOMEN WORKING® (WOW) WITH CHILDREN ANNUAL CONFERENCE

It is in view of the foregoing that we began the MoM® (Mom on a Mission) Movement last year and launched the Wow (Women Working) with Children Conference on Saturday, June 8, 2019 with women from different sectors and parts of Nigeria, who work with children as primary and secondary caregivers in attendance.

Our second conference held virtually from Friday, 24th- Sunday, 26th July, 2020 hosting 18 distinguished women from all walks of life as our guest speakers and addressing different areas of concerns and welfare of the African woman vis a vis her relationship with her precious children and the responsibilities of providing care.   

Between 2019 and today we have reached close to 3000 women.

MOM® (MOM ON A MISSION) TOWHALL

We hold regular townhall meeting with women and mothers addressing pressing and current issues affecting our distinguished women and mothers and together we find immediate and long-term solutions to the identified issues.

The sessions are facilitated by experts in the field of the issues for discussion and they hold online and offline.

READ2S.A.F.E® ONLINE CHILDREN’S BOOK CLUB

Entertainment is a major and effective tool in communicating value to our precious children. The aim of the initiative is to empower children at this time to understand their roles in their Personal Safety and Self-Protection.

  • To achieve the foregoing, we partner with distinguished parents, teachers, child-loving individuals to read a small portion of our books to the children through an online platform (SAFEVILLE TV YouTUBE) every Fridays by 6PM. We are also looking to air this in TV stations and other streaming platforms for wider reach and impact.
    We debuted on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 on Instagram @taiwoakinlami with over 2000 views till date’
